Splat

Inspired by the color and movement of dripping paint, Splat uses organic forms to mimic the vibrant fluidity of its inspiration to create playful seating. This called for the study of paint droplets, their viscosity, cohesive properties, as well as the structure of the drop which ultimately causes it to fall. The use of 3D printing was chosen for its ability to easily generate organic forms. Splat aims to exude the youthful spirit of vivid new color while visually hinting at the inevitable moment the drop falls.
